Emergency services and help for homeless people

Are you homeless? Have you come across a homeless person who needs help? Here you will find an overview of contact points and emergency services in Munich.

Course description

the City of Munich (LHM) has a large number of counselling and accommodation facilities for acutely homeless people. The facilities are located throughout the city and, in cooperation with independent welfare organisations, bed spaces are provided in emergency accommodation, hostels, flexi-homes, clearing houses and housing projects for single people, couples and families for temporary accommodation. In addition, the people accommodated are given socio-educational counselling and support, and despite the many offers, there are also homeless people who decide to spend the night outside. Citizens often contact the Lord Mayor or the city administration to draw attention to the plight of these people or to a camp or a permanent sleeping place. If the city becomes aware of individual homeless people or of a permanent camp formation, street workers visit the homeless and offer counselling and support. The aim of street work is to motivate people in need of help to accept the offer of assistance. However, every opportunity to provide help depends on whether people want to accept offers. Everyone has the right to self-determination, which means that the person concerned must be fundamentally willing to accept help. If people decide to continue sleeping outside and not accept help, this decision must be accepted.the following links lead to the services and accommodation options that the LHM provides for homeless and homeless people.at wohnungslosenhilfe-muenchen.net, the network Wohnungslosenhilfe, an association of social organisations in Munich, presents its services.if you come across homeless people in the city, you can recommend the contact points and services listed in the address list.
